Nexus 10 to compete with iPad, Android 4.2, and much more

There will be a lot going on this week in the technology week! Google has an event coming up 6 days after Apple's iPad Mini event. Mark your calendars for October 29. They plan to announce a 32GB version of it's Nexus 7, and a cellular version of the Nexus 7. Neither are the main event though. Google will add a 10" Nexus device that matches the resolution of Apple's iPad. Oh yeah, and Android 4.2 is to be announced.

"Google has also been working with Samsung to launch a 10-inch tablet, confirming leaks which suggested Google had teamed up with the Korean manufacturer for another device.
Our source tells us that internally the tablet goes under the name “Codename Manta”, runs Google’s new Android 4.2 operating system (previously referred to as Key Lime Pie, but is set to retain the Jelly Bean branding), and will offer a 2560×1600 pixel (16:10) resolution, which we believe will offer around 300 pixels per inch (PPI) compared to the new iPad’s 264 PPI."

"Our source says that Android 4.2 will compete with Apple’s iOS 6, in that the panoramic camera settings will be updated to support both horizontal and vertical movement by default."

LG is also ready to unveil a new device named Nexus 4. It will be powered by Android 4.2 (like Nexus 10) and will have a quad core processor with 2GB of RAM. It will feature a huge 4.7" HD display, on the back it will have an eight MP camera, and on the front a 1.3 MP camera. One new feature in Android 4.2 that will make tablets even bigger in family's is multiple user profiles. To compete with iOS 6 the cameras will be updated to have a panoramic came feature that goes both vertically and horizontally. Microsoft has an event scheduled on the same day. In the coming week we have Apple unveiling an iPad Mini on Tuesday, on Friday Microsoft's Surface tablet and Windows 8 will hit shelves. Then on Monday of next week we have an Android event where a new tablet, phone, and OS will be announced, at the same time Microsoft will have an event where they will announce several new phones running Windows 8. It is going to be a huge week!

What are you most looking forward to?
